Alessandro was born in Reggio Emilia on December 73
In the last ten years he lived in Italy, USA, Japan, China, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong and many other country, working on his project on some of the biggest cities in the world and collaborating on a few editorial projects with different italian and international magazines.
From 2001 to 2009 he was part of the team of photographer of Grazia Neri Agency and won the 3M Italy award for the best italian photographer under 30.
From fine art exhibitions, to international magazines, Alessandro Rizzi’s works spans from cityscape to urban shoots. His massive archive of color photographs taken in the last twenty years around the globe, include images of his latest book “Sculptures” first of a trilogy about the African-Americans issue. Sculptures Vol I has been recently acquired and housed by M.o.M.a. and the Metropolitan Museum of Art collections as well private and public collection in Oslo, Chicago and Boston.
His work has been exhibited throughout Europe, Unites States of America, Middle East and Asia in solo and group exhibition and his collected by public and private collector worldwide.
He delivered lectures at the Institute Center of Photography in New York, Fondazione Capri, Domus Academy, American University of Beirut and at the University of Teramo and Pescara, Fondazione Zimei.
Part of is Tokyo’s work has been exhibit at the Bath of Diocletian in Rome in an acclaimed exhibition with Pieter Hugo and Narelle Autio and then in Los Angeles at Bergamot Station.
Recently he has been also collected by the international festival of Fotografia Europea and exhibit in occasion of the Collection’s Public Show.
